ABOUT ALLAN

My main practice areas are employment law, real estate law and civil litigation. Prior to forming Rohoman & Mohammed LLP, I operated my own practice, Law Office of Allan Mohammed.

I have worked in the public, private and non-profit sectors. In labour and employment law, I have worked on both the side of workers and management. I opened my own practice to represent workers and individuals whose workplace and other rights have been violated. My practice has evolved to include real estate law and civil litigation.

Over the years, I've also done quite a bit of volunteer work in Toronto and Ottawa. I am a former member of the Board of Directors of On-Track Career and Employment Services and former volunteer as a big brother with Big Brothers and Sisters of Toronto.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and City Studies from the University of Toronto as well as a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. Prior to enrolling in law school, I worked for the
Ontario Pay Equity Commission in Toronto and subsequently with the Ontario Ministry of Government Services in a Human Resource Management role.

While working towards my Juris Doctor, I worked part-time for the Law Commission of Ontario and summered with the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB) in Ottawa. I also worked in the Workers’ Rights Division at Parkdale Community Legal Services (PCLS) and volunteered with the Workers’ Action Centre during law school. I received the Walter Williston Essay Prize in Civil Liberties in 2008.

Following law school, I articled at a boutique labour and employment law firm located in Ottawa.

I'm licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a barrister and solicitor, as well as a commissioner for taking affidavits in Ontario and a Notary Public.
